My Mini Pet Pig

Cold weather, warm mini pig

This time of year is my favorite with the pretty colors, crisp leaves and lots of farm visits. Nothing beats freshly made donuts for the kids and hot apple cider for the parents (okay, and a few donuts for us too).

It also means that with the chillier weather coming and going, Cocco has wanted to cuddle up even more than usual. His insistent jumping onto my lap whenever I sit on the floor has escalated to wanting to be held tight in my arms, his nose buried in the crease of my elbow.

He even jumps on the chairs to sit with the kids whenever they sit down, particularly my daughter. He will squeeze himself in between her back and the chair, acting like a massaging heating pad for her back that she thinks is the funniest thing in the world. She will then hop off, wanting to play, and wrap him up in a blanket like one of her dolls.

Cocco has not gotten to the point of jumping on my leg like a dog to demand attention but he does follow my every step and will rest right on top of my feet whenever I stay still long enough. The ultimate footrest for a mini pig.

Or my legs, anything works as long as there is contact.

He is even happy to be held with one arm when I am busy doing something. Remember that piggy I couldn’t wait to tote around? He has become the epitome of a tote-able mini pig.

If this is fall, I can only imagine what winter will bring…

Thanks for reading :-)

Sheba, I didn’t know either! And that first month we had him I wouldn’t have believed anyone who told me so. Now Cocco would cuddle all day, every day, with a little rooting in between.

Oh he’s just so cute..I didn’t know either that pigs liked cuddles but then he probably thinks he’s one of you..I once had a house Duck, never didn’t know he was a duck, he use to want to snuggle all the time :) xx00xx

Gosh – you might not have to use your heater at all as long as he’s around to keep you warm! I think you should invest in one of those special carriers they make for babies so you can carry him around on your back or front and still have your hands free!

i also didn’t know that pigs could be so snuggly. either. Cocco sure looks like a great pet. I have only had a few pigs and they always stayed outside. Have a great day.

I think the way they are raised makes a difference. He is a single pig (with a buddy two minutes away) that lives inside. He loves the attention and cuddling from us since his piggy friend isn’t always around.

Those are some great snuggling spots! The picture of Cocco sleeping on the back of your legs while you were kneeling cracked our Mommy up big time!!!! Who knew such a little piggy could make our Mommy laugh so hard!!! (Oh, and thanks for the Sweet Blog award the other day!)

Do micro mini pigs like dogs? Because after seeing Cocco’s extreme cuteness, my mom thinks we need a piggy friend too. Whatever you do, do not tell my dad…he says four pets is Enough!

Mini pigs DO like dogs. They actually love dog cuddle companions. However, it’s not safe to leave them alone with dogs (though my sister doesn’t listen to me and her Golden cuddles all the time with her mini pig!) since pigs can easily be hurt even when the dog is just playing. So maybe your dad will win this one :-)
